A call to the will of God
Obedience is a virtue the members hold dear, following the example of Christ, who was obedient even unto death, always doing the will of the Father. It is a call to live in community and to surrender one's own will to the will of God.
In community, the members listen to their Superiors and to the voice within, so as to discern God's call for their life. Far from diminishing the person, this obedience unites the community in a single mission and gives to each member the peace of one who no longer walks alone, but in step with the will of God and the communion of the faithful.
Their service is carried out in a spirit of humility, recognizing that any good accomplished is due to Christ alone, and accepting that all gifts come from God and are for God's service.
